Trailer

Plot

British photographer Samara Pearce accidentally discovers an incredible story of her family: her great-grandfather, Austrian Alexander Weinerberger, witnessed the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933. He took historical photos of starving Kharkiv on his camera and was able to take them out as diplomatic mail to Austria. Weinerberger wanted the world to know about the genocide of Ukrainians and to stop it. After finding her great-grandfather's camera and album with shocking photos from Ukraine, Samara rethinks her creative path. Feeling connected to her great-grandfather, 90 years after the Holodomor, Samara embarks on a creative expedition to Kharkiv to take her own photos of the ongoing genocide of Ukrainians.

The film "Family Album" won the art competition at the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Institute of Industrial Property" and was made possible thanks to state support.
