Art-house is a unique genre of art that is characterized by the creation of innovative, intellectual films. Art-house cinema is not about trivial or commercial movies; rather, it is evident that the director has constant presence, deep control, and analysis of what is happening on the screen. The concept was born in America in the post-war era and was used to refer to cinemas that showed low-budget foreign films that were far from resembling Hollywood films. Often, these spectacles have a dramatic character, with the focus on the internal conflict of characters, their feelings and experiences, and the impact of this on changes in the behavior of the main character. Thanks to such directors as Federico Fellini, Eric Rohmer, Jean-Luc Godard, Lynch, and Sorrentino, the world has seen the best art-house films - the new author's cinema that stood against mainstream cinema.
